How to judge the quality of timing belt
The must-have features of a high-quality timing belt:
1. Good anti-aging performance: The timing belt keeps its performance unchanged during long-term use, which is also directly related to the nature of the work. It must have anti-aging performance for long-term operation in high-speed rotation, so that the timing belt can be used for a long time.
2. Good oil and corrosion resistance: the timing belt will inevitably come into contact with lubricating oil and other materials used in the equipment during use. Therefore, the timing belt must have good oil resistance and is not easily corroded by oil, so that it can be used for a long time in practical applications.
3. Good wear resistance: Because the timing belt is used in conjunction with the timing pulley, the timing pulley is mostly made of high-strength materials such as aluminum alloy, 45# steel, and cast iron. The timing belt transmission transmits motion through the meshing of the teeth on the timing belt and the corresponding tooth grooves on the timing pulley. During the transmission process, there will be a certain amount of friction between the timing belt and the timing pulley. This friction is necessary, so the timing belt must have very good wear resistance in the application, and it will not break easily even if it is rubbed for a long time.
4. Good tensile strength: The tensile strength of the timing belt is related to the material, structure, process and other factors of the timing belt. If the tensile strength of the timing belt is insufficient, failures such as breakage or sliding are prone to occur, affecting the normal operation of mechanical equipment.
